Introduction

This group relations conference draws an international membership from New York and the UK, including Tavistock staff and students, the NHS, universities, private and public sectors.

Applications are invited from those interested in exploring the impact of our different backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures, class and identities on leadership, followership and the complexity of organisational life.
Participation in one of the Tavistock’s well-known group relations conferences is often a pivotal and memorable part of working, training or studying here at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Group relations conferences provide a unique opportunity for studying group and organisational dynamics and enhancing our understanding of the parts we all play in the organisational and societal systems, in which we live, work and co-operate with others. They provide a rich opportunity to explore some of the forces, conscious and unconscious, that influence the choices and decisions we make in such settings.
