Energy, Creative Collaboration and Wellbeing in Organizations
4th international Group Relations conference
Thursday 14th June 2018 - Sunday 17th June 2018
Celleno, Viterbo, Italy
Il Nodo Group, Italy
Info & Fees
The tradition of Group Relations Conferences (www.tavinstitute.org and www.grouprelations.com) has generated extraordinary ideas and intuitions regarding unconscious collective thought processes, images, emotions, anxieties, defensive responses and the impact these reactions have on a system to “stay on task”. It is our responsibility to explore and create structures which nurture wellbeing and vitality in the systems we live in.
Our proposal is to offer a Group Relations Conference where traditional methods, internationally practiced for over sixty years, will focus on the dimension of the body and of energy as well as on their sustainable relationship with the environment.

The primary task of this conference is to offer participants the opportunity to explore how awareness of energetic resources and creative collaboration can introduce wellbeing into the organisations to which they belong.
The challenge of this work is to extend the field of attention to the unconscious as it manifests itself at the level both of the body and of the matter.
Interdependence and relatedness, essential for any kind of systemic thinking, will also be explored during the events that facilitate learning through contact with individual and group energy and our relationship with nature.

The design of the working conference articulates the traditional events of Group Relations Conferences (Plenary, Large Group, Social Dreaming Matrix, Institutional Event, Review and Application Groups) with events which explore the language of the arts and of the moving body in the space.
LANGUAGE: English and Italian
top of documentMethodology
The conference is a temporary organisation shaped by the collaboration of the participants and of the staff. Learning is experiential and based on the study of the here and now. Residence is required: it is part of the learning as well as the observation of the web of relationships developed in the course of the conference’s events. This method requires self-reflection and encourages a free spirit of research and thinking. The aim of the programme is not therapeutic.

The conference is directed at individuals, from all walks of life, who are interested in understanding groups, organisational dimensions and the evolutionary level found in the social contexts in which we live. Specifically it is directed at those who would like to sustain existing resources in a better and ecological way and to bring new thoughts and wellbeing into the organisations where they operate.
Climate change is an unavoidable reality threatening the equilibrium of the globe which requires to be faced with attentive eyes turned both to the world we live in and to an inner world often moved by acquired habits and unchallenged assumptions.
In all social groups and in organisations, both corporations and institutions, the present crisis which covers an interconnected web of causes, from the financial to the environmental, calls for a change of direction.
By activating new creative processes, it is possible to shift from a point of view based on unlimited expansion to one based on the reality of conscious use of limited resources.
The experience of the conference will allow participants - in the roles of leader and follower - to learn and reflect upon these themes and the possibility of creative collaboration towards the realisation of a common task.

S. Giovanni Battista is a convent dating from 1610, is found at the entrance into Celleno Vecchio, an ancient Medieval village at the junction of three regions: Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany.
According to the ancient Greek historian Dionysus d’Alicarnasso, Celleno Vecchio was founded by Italo, a descendant of Enotro, in memory of his daughter Cilenia.
In Greek mythology, Celeno was one of the three harpies, daughters of Electra and Thaumas, and the town’s official crest depicts the figure of a harpy. The ex-convent has 50 beds in single, double and triple rooms. Most rooms have private bathrooms. It is located near many interesting sites, surrounded by orchards, cloisters and woodland.
